VETERAN Directed Care

YOU FOUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM, ALLOW US TO FIGHT FOR YOU!

About Us

In 2022, we were honored to be invited to partner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to launch the Veteran Directed Care (VDC) Program, a pioneering effort to support our nation’s heroes in living independently at home. By early 2023, we began providing care through this life-changing initiative, and later that year, proudly opened a dedicated office in Dyersburg, Tennessee—a hub designed specifically to serve our local Veterans and their families.

The VDC Program is a collaborative effort between the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and the Administration for Community Living (ACL). It empowers eligible Veterans with a self-directed care model that provides an annual flexible budget. This budget can be used to hire personal care assistants and purchase essential services or items that help Veterans avoid institutional care and continue living with dignity in their own homes.

As one of the VHA’s trusted community partners, we guide Veterans and their families through every step of the program—from managing their individualized care budgets to helping them become confident employers of their chosen caregivers. Together, we are committed to one goal: keeping Veterans where they belong—at home.

Our team is made up of veterans and family of veterans. We understand how important service is for our veterans.

About the Program

The Veteran Directed Care (VDC) Program demonstrates significant success in supporting Veterans’ independence and overall well-being. An overwhelming 95% of participants choose to hire personal care providers from their own trusted circles, such as family, friends, or neighbors. This personalized approach contributes to measurable outcomes, including fewer hospitalizations and reduced likelihood of institutionalization compared to other VA Home and Community programs.

The program has garnered exceptionally high satisfaction, with 99% of Veterans and their families expressing approval of their experience. Furthermore, 97% report an enhanced quality of life, underscoring the VDC Program’s effectiveness in helping Veterans age with dignity and autonomy at home.
